Hurrah! We won the Donald Booth Trophy gaining distinctions in both our pieces, 'Here in my Heart' by Sarah Quartel and 'Let's Face the Music and Dance' by Irving Berlin.

Chair of Vocal Expressions, Jane Doherty, was thrilled to present a cheque for £1330 to Gerry Beaumond of Macmillan Cancer Support, proceeds from the hugely successful and enjoyable 'Face the Music & Dance' evening of song and dance. Thanks are also due to the Round Table who ran the bar and local businesss in Holmfirth who so generously donated prizes.
The sun came out for our workshop at Hade Edge Bandroom where we began to learn some exciting new Christmas repetoire.

The choir joined Hade Edge Band for a very entertaining concert at the Civic Hall. The Expressionettes were seen for the first time at a local concert.

Over a period of three weeks the choir enjoyed the experience of recording a CD of songs from its current repetoire.

Vocal Expressions invite you to 'Put on the Ritz' and join us to 'Face the Music and Dance' at our next event on Saturday 21 June at 7.30pm at Holmbridge Parish Hall. We will be supported by our guests Holme Valley Big Band for a 1930s inspired evening of singing and dancing. Tickets, at £10, are available from Christine Haigh on 01484 684463.
The choir presented a full length concert with items by Robert, Lloyd and The Expressionettes in addition. We had a wonderful time and received many enthusiastic compliments from the audience.
